Welcome! Thanks for stopping by.

The purpose of this website is to freely share the music that The Living God inspired me to write. All the music and lyrics are free to download. Yes Free.

I do all the recording and producing in my spare time (usually at the end of the day when I’m tired) not in some fancy recording studio. I simply do the best I can with what I have. Just like my own life complete with mistakes and imperfections these songs are intended to be an offering of praise to The Living God and my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

It is my hope and prayer that you will be encouraged, comforted, and even challenged by the message in each song. Share them with a friend. The important thing is the message, period. I would be ashamed if even one of these songs God has so blessed me with did not reach someone who desperately needed to hear it because they could not afford to buy a CD.

Exalted above the heavens

Exalted Above the Heavens is taken from Psalms 57. All praise, honor and glory to the living God. The heavens and the earth proclaim His glory.

Exalted above the heavens
- Words and Music by Steve Brown

I will praise you oh Lord
and tell of your great love
I will sing about your faithfulness
to all who need to hear

Be exalted above the heavens
You are supreme o're the skies
Let your glory and majesty
be over all the earth

Show me mercy oh God
You're a refuge for my soul
and I will hide in the shadow of your wings
til all trouble is gone

Be exalted above the heavens
You are supreme o're the skies
Let your glory and majesty
be over all the earth

I cry to you oh god
Fulfill your purpose in me
You come down from Heaven to save me
For you love me so

Be exalted above the heavens
You are supreme o're the skies
Let your glory and majesty
be over all the earth

Be exalted above the heavens
you are supreme o're the skies
Let your glory and majesty
be over all the earth

Pow'r in the blood

Pow'r in the blood - original lyrics public domain

Power in the Blood   There is a way to be free from sin's heavy burden and live the life God meant for all of us. Freedom came by Jesus' Blood. The power to live is in Jesus' blood.

Would you be free from your burden of sin
There's pow'r in the blood
Yes there's pow'r in the blood
Would you o're evil a victory win
There's wonderful pow'r in the blood

There is pow'r there is pow'r
There is wonder working pow'r
in the blood in the blood of the Lamb
There is pow'r there is pow'r
There is wonder working pow'r
in the precious blood of the Lamb

Would you be free from your passion and pride
There's pow'r in the blood yes there's pow'r in the blood
Come for a cleansing to Calvary's tide
There's wonderful pow'r in the blood

There is pow'r there is pow'r
There is wonder working pow'r
in the blood in the blood of the Lamb
There is pow'r there is pow'r
There is wonder working pow'r
in the precious blood of the Lamb

Would you be whiter much whiter than snow
There's pow'r in the blood yes there's pow'r in the blood
Sin stains are lost in it's life giving flow
There's wonderful pow'r in the blood

There is pow'r there is pow'r
There is wonder working pow'r
in the blood in the blood of the Lamb
There is pow'r there is pow'r
There is wonder working pow'r
in the precious blood of the Lamb

Would you do service for Jesus you're king
There's pow'r in the blood yes there's pow'r in the blood
Would you live daily His praises to sing
There's wonderful pow'r in the blood

There is pow'r there is pow'r
There is wonder working pow'r
in the blood in the blood of the Lamb

Done With Love

Done With Love

Done With Love   Love is defined in 1Corinthians 13: 4-7 as patient, kind, slow to become angry, rejoices with the truth, always protects, trusts, hopes and perseveres. It is not envious, boastful, proud, rude or selfish. So how does your life define "Done With Love"

There's a man in town
not wealthy or very well known
Helping his friends and neighbors
just like Jesus said
A man of few words
he quietly goes on his way
One thing they know for sure
it's done with love

There's a wealthy man
on the other side of town
He has spent his whole life
for fortune and pow'r
Never seems enough
to satisfy his life
Now he's just a bitter man
he's done with love

Done with love
the meaning's up to you
is it God you serve
a living sacrifice
or do you come first
and others toss aside
How does your life define
done with love

A husband and wife
married for a while
both of them love Jesus
commited to his call
He adores her
She's so in love with him
Everything that they do
is done with love

Down the road another couple
married the same time
Neither one knows Jesus
they only think of themselves
Every time they talk
it ends up in a fight
They're ready to give up
They're done with love

Done with love
the meaning's up to you
is it God you serve
a living sacrifice
or do you come first
and others toss aside
How does your life define
done with love

Oh we read about
how God so loved the world
He gave us the way to Heaven
his one and only son
Oh do you believe
or will you reject him still
but he hung upon that cross
Done with love

Done with love
the meaning's up to you
is it God you serve
a living sacrifice
or do you come first
and others toss aside
How does your life define
done with love

When I Survey/ Jesus Loves Me medley

When I Survey/ Jesus Loves Me medley   I don't really know why or how I put the two of these together but God does. I just like the way they fit together. Just to think that the Bible says Jesus loved me so much that He willingly let himself be beaten and nailed to a cross so I would belong to Him. Nothing else matters. THANK-YOU JESUS!!!

Vanessa

Vanessa is the true story of a young woman who accepted God's gift of eternal life shortly before she was tragically killed. There is no guarantee for tomorrow. James 4:14 says your life is a vapor that appears for a short time and then is gone.

She stands at the door of the church
nowhere to go and no one to turn to
Doesn't know what she'll find
She's just hoping that someone will care

A friendly face says come on in
How can we help you today
We can help you through your trouble
and show you how much Jesus cares

Jesus commands us to love our neighbors
and give them a hand
What we do for the least of these in love
we do it for him

Jesus stands at the door of her life
She bows her head and prays
Calling upon the Lord
to forgive her and save her from sin

Jesus commands us to love our neighbors
and give them a hand
What we do for the least of these in love
we do it for him

What is life but a vapor
that's here for a while then gone
So when God puts somebody
at your door it maybe their last day

Jesus commands us to love our neighbors
and give them a hand
What we do for the least of these in love
we do it for him

She stands at the door of Heaven
She sees his sweet face as he welcomes her home
Now she's with Jesus
cause someone showed her how much he cares

Jesus commands us to love our neighbors
and give them a hand
What we do for the least of these in love
we do it for him

Jesus commands us to love our neighbors
and give them a hand
What we do for the least of these in love
we do it for him

She stands at the door of the church
nowhere to go and no one to turn to

3:16 to Paradise

3:16 to Paradise   I guess I am an incurable train nut, so when God inspired me to set John 3:16 to the rails in a song, that was just icing on the cake.

3:16 to Paradise
- © 2008 Words and Music by Steve Brown

I have had a love for trains real or a toy
Big or small I'd watch 'em all since I was a boy
but the train that I look forward to will take me to the prize
is the 3:16 to Paradise

Now listen close and don't be fooled the fare you can't afford
There is nothing you can do to work your way on board
Cause Jesus is the only way and he has paid the price
to the 3:16 to Paradise

For God so loved the world he sent his only son
to pay the fare to Paradise that no one could afford
and so by faith receive God's grace you can climb aboard
Your final destination is where you'll meet the Lord
So catch the 3:16 to Paradise
catch the 3:16 to Paradise

Jesus paid the fare upon the cross on which he died
Along with him there were two thieves hanging by his side
but the one who said Lord this day would you remember me
took the 3:16 to Paradise

For God so loved the world he sent his only son
to pay the fare to Paradise that no one could afford
and so by faith receive God's grace you can climb aboard
Your final destination is where you'll meet the Lord
So catch the 3:16 to Paradise
catch the 3:16 to Paradise

Some may think there's many trains that go to Paradise
Long and black or rails of gold will whisk you on your way
but their only destination is the city of despair
There's just one 3:16 to Paradise

For God so loved the world he sent his only son
to pay the fare to Paradise that no one could afford
and so by faith receive God's grace you can climb aboard
Your final destination is where you'll meet the Lord
So catch the 3:16 to Paradise
catch the 3:16 to Paradise
Don't miss the 3:16 to Paradise
Paradise
Paradise

Unfailing Love

Unfailing Love   I wrote this out of Psalm 13 because there are days I feel like I've lost God. The enemy is on the attack and it seems God is nowhere to be found. But, just like David wrote, I trust in His unfailing love. He will never leave me. Thank-you Father God for your unfailing love that always leads me back to You.

Unfailing Love

Have you forotten me
How long will you hide
I'm alone with my thoughts
and my heart is sad

But I trust in your unfailing love
I rejoice for you have saved me
and I will sing your praise
for I know that you take care of me

Father look at me
Can't live without you
Please don't let my enemy rejoice
and say that he has won

For I trust in your unfailing love
I rejoice for you have saved me
and I will sing your praise
for I know that you take care of me

Get the sin out of the camp

Get the Sin out of the Camp   With the same flavor of "Joshua Fit the Battle of Jericho", this light-hearted song addresses a deep seated problem. SIN. Sin affects our lives, relationships (with God as well as others) and our churches. Jesus won the victory, but we can't claim that victory until we are willing to do what it takes to "Get the Sin out of the Camp ".

Joshua fought the battle of Jericho
a mighty victory by God's hand
What about the battle after that
The one that didn't go as planned

Israel was soundly beaten
A miserable defeat it was
Joshua lay down on his face to cry
but the Lord said get up and I'll show you why

Here's what ya do Josh

Separate the tribes
Divide the clans
Sift through the families
until the one you find

If you want to claim the victory
y'gotta get the sin out of the camp
If you want to claim the victory
y'gotta get the sin out of the camp

Oh it feels like somethings missing in your life
Y'can't get passed the emptiness and strife
Well put your trust in Jesus today
He shed his blood to take your sins away

Here's what ya do

Confess your sins
No excuses
Ask his forgiveness
He never refuses

If you want to claim the victory
y'gotta get the sin out of the camp
If you want to claim the victory
y'gotta get the sin out of the camp

Sin affects the body of Christ
We soon forget that Jesus paid the price
and stop showing God's love to our fellow man
It's all part of Satan's master plan

Know what it is

Separate the tribes
Ha...surprised
He'll tear apart God's family
with all his filthy lies
all his lies

So'if you want to claim the victory
If you want to be all God wants you to be
If you want to claim the victory
Get the sin out of the camp
Get the sin out of the camp
Get the sin out of the camp
Get the sin out of the camp

The Thorn

The Thorn is a reminder of why we keep going despite frustration, set backs, situations gone wrong, and everything else that happens when we're working for the kingdom. Don't forget the ever popular "thorn in the flesh - What I want to do I don't do, instead I do the things I don't want to do". The Apostle Paul asked God three time to take away his "thorn". God's response, "My grace is sufficient for you"

The Thorn
- © 2008 Words and Music by Steve Brown

Lord I had a bad day
the frustration of this world is on my mind
and now I feel like I've lost my way
I need the joy of your salvation
and quietly he said

My grace is sufficient for you
My love for you is everlasting
When you're weak my strength is perfect
and no one can take you from me

Looking out across the water
I watch a seagull fly and I know
you care for them though they do not sow
who am I that you consider me
and still these words I hear

My grace is sufficient for you
My love for you is everlasting
When you're weak my strength is perfect
and no one can take you from me

My grace
My love
My strength
and no one can take you from me

And now I want to thank you
Though the troubles of this world are all around
Your Word will aways be my guide
Help me spread the joy of your salvation
for I will always know

Your grace is sufficient for me
Your love for me is everlasting
When I'm weak your strength is perfect
and no one can take you from me

Your grace
Your love
Your strength
and no one can take you from me

Farewell to Antioch

Farewell to Antioch
- © 2008 Words and Music by Steve Brown

Farewell to Antioch  The title was inspired by a missionary friend of mine. This song is dedicated to ALL you folks, full time or part time, who have taken the Gospel "Around the corner or around the World"

In the little church of Antioch
many years ago
They were prayin' and worshipping
Preachin' the Word of the Lord

Paul and Barnabus had traveled there
Stayed with them a year
til the Spirit of the Living God
came upon them one day
sayin'

Separate to me the ones that I have called
to do the work I have for them
So they gathered 'round
Laid hands on them
and placed the in God's care
Farewell to Antioch
Farewell to Antioch

Well the story doesn't end right there
It goes on today
We should all be faithful to our God
Seek his face every day

From the churches whether big or small
as we worship and pray
The Spirit of the Living God
Calls some of us away
sayin'

Separate to me the ones that I have called
to do the work I have for them
So gather 'round
Lay hands on them
and place them in God's care

Father thank-you for these ones you have called
They commit this time to share the Word of God
Around the corner or around the world
guide them protect them until we meet again
